5 Ways to Ease Caregiver Tension

June 5, 2020 · Leave a Comment

Cheryl Hepp Basham, retired project manager for Computer Education Support for JCPS, offers these suggestions for caregivers:

• Do the best you can with your loved one with regard to his situation. It’s impossible to know everything at any given time.

• Push aside guilty feelings about what you are or aren’t able to do.

• Contact medical professionals or caregiver agencies for advice when you feel overwhelmed.

• Keep others informed of your loved one’s food choices. This will make for a less stressful situation for all if you are not with him during meals.

• Care for yourself. Visit with friends, spend an evening with your spouse, or play with your children.

P.S. Keep your elderly family members safe at home.
